TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INC. APPOINTS MASAHIRO YAMADA CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that Masahiro Yamada has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) at TABS, effective April 1. Yamada will be responsible for the overall management of the company in close partnership with Mark Mathews, TABS’ president and chief operating officer. Yamada’s specific focus will be on the development and deployment of business policy and strategy, supporting the coordination of all aspects of TABS’ relationship with Toshiba TEC in Tokyo. Yamada succeeds Toshifumi Matsumoto, who served TABS in the same role for more than a year. Matsumoto will continue in his role as chief marketing executive over the MFP business, supporting worldwide sales and marketing activities, including TABS.

Before assuming the position of chairman and CEO of TABS, Yamada held various other positions at Toshiba, gaining world-wide business experience. He was assigned to Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS) from July 1990 to September 1993, having responsibility for production planning in the Toner Products Division in the United States. Yamada was named President of Toshiba TEC Germany Imaging Systems (TGIS) in October 2003 and remained in that role until April 2008, overseeing the company’s pan-European MFP business. Most recently, he served as deputy general manager to the Document Systems Business Group at Toshiba TEC Japan with responsibility for overseeing the American and European MFP operations. Yamada began working at the company in 1985.
